Mushroom cultivation training and processing in department for 3 months

Date: 05-02-2024 to April 2024

Department of Agriculture have started the Experiential Learning Unit (ELP) in Feb, 2024 and mushroom production took place till April 2024. Dr. Shalu Vyas took the initiative to establish this unit and arranged the compost bags and spawn from nearby farms. The compost bags were placed in sterilized room where temperature is maintained from 18-24°C in AC room. Watering in the compost bag were given as per requirement and training were given to the students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture classes. Once the mushrooms production started in the compost bags. The mushroom were sold in small polybags of 200 g to the people inside the university. Students were trained for plucking, packaging and selling the mushroom bags.
